The brief

33 Creative were engaged by NSW Health to support the development of the NSW Regional Health Plan, by facilitating consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health sector and community members.

Community consultations

Virtual consultation sessions were facilitated with health workers and members of the community from different local health districts to ensure First Nations views are incorporated into the regional health plan in key themes:

  • Build community engagement
  • Healthy lifestyle; prevention, and education
  • Safety, quality assurance and reporting
  • Strengthening the regional health workforce
  • Better access to quality healthcare
  • Expanding integrated primary care models

We worked with key Aboriginal Health stakeholders to recruit participants and maximise representation from different regions across NSW.

The impact

We are so pleased to be able to facilitate the views and experiences of community and health care workers. We are passionate about ensuring First Nations views and experiences are considered in improving health outcomes, supported by cultural connection and safety.

We look forward to seeing the new NSW Regional Health Plan, once released and thank participants for their valuable skills and expertise in enhancing care and health outcomes for our community.
