Alexandra Dorante

Alex is a proud Wagadagam and Meriam woman from the Torres Strait. After growing up in Mission Beach, Alex moved south to pursue a Bachelor of Communication (MA Journalism and Media and Communications) at the University of Technology. She joined our team at the beginning of 2023 as a Communications Project Officer, after working as a journalist for the National Indigenous Radio Service. Since then, she has emerged as a professional journalist, presenter and rugby league commentator. Alex is determined to utilise her communication and media skills to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and create meaningful change.
