NSW Health Kids and Families commissioned us to produce seven short videos to increase young Aboriginal people’s access and attendance at appropriate healthcare services.
The project’s goal was to deal with stigmas and apprehensions among young people and encourage them to feel more comfortable seeking medical care.
The development phase saw close consultation with the community, especially young people and health workers. This resulted in our producers developing a strong understanding of the concerns of the people we were targeting, as well as the words and language that they used to express them.
Pursuing a creative direction that combined film, interview and animation, the result was a series of videos that spoke directly to young Indigenous Australians and dealt with their real concerns.
The series was well-received and continues to be shared on social media and through health and education organisations in NSW and beyond.
We also designed and produced posters and brochures to support the video media.
