Katie Puttock

    Katie is an experienced communicator with more than 12 years’ experience working on social policy issues at the Federal level.

    With a strong background in social marketing campaigns and developing communications strategies aimed at shifting behaviors and social norms, Katie has also worked in national policy roles in the areas of Health, Aged Care, Social Services and Indigenous Affairs. She is an experienced senior adviser identifying effective solutions to complex problems. Her strength in community engagement brings a strong grass roots focus to effective public relations campaigns.

    Katie’s extensive work in Indigenous affairs has seen her contribute on a wide range of issues relevant to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including health promotion campaigns, employment reforms, and targeted harm minimisation efforts such as the Low Aromatic Fuel campaign. She has expansive Indigenous stakeholder networks, having worked for the Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs. She has lead high profile projects nationally, including the annual Prime Minister’s Closing the Gap report and event and the redevelopment of the governments digital engagement platforms.

    Katie’s experience also includes senior management roles, as Chief of Staff to the CEO of the Federal Digital Transformation Agency, followed by the Federal Assistant Minister for Finance. Her extensive experience of politics and government brings a depth of understanding of issues to our projects.

    Katie is also an experienced media adviser having held roles with Federal Government Ministers, and specialises in proactive media engagement. She has strong networks and relationships with Indigenous media outlets, as well as key national print outlets.
